Embracing Wellness in Winter: December Updates from Nourish Wellness
Welcome to our Nourish Community
As winter settles over the Comox Valley, we’re filled with gratitude for this growing community of clients, practitioners, and wellness seekers. At Nourish Wellness, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and collaborative space for healing — and this winter, we’re celebrating both reflection and growth.
Whether you’re joining us for counselling, acupuncture, nutrition, or one of our many integrative services, we’re so glad you’re here.
A Look Back — and a Look Ahead
When Nourish Wellness first opened in 2018, we were a small but mighty team with a yoga studio at our core. Over the years, that vision has evolved into something even more powerful — a collective of 13 wellness professionals offering a wide range of therapeutic modalities to support you in body, mind, and spirit.
Today, our offerings include:
Individual, couples, and family counselling
Naturopathic medicine
Craniosacral therapy
Hypnotherapy
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
Holistic nutrition
We’ve grown — and so has our community. Thank you for trusting us with your wellness journey.
Practicing Seasonal Self-Care
Our counsellor, Riley Brown, recently contributed to a HuffPost article sharing tips for managing seasonal affective symptoms during the darker winter months. Some of our favourite takeaways include:
Reflect on your core values when choosing how to spend your time
Try intentional movement to boost mood and energy
Use a light therapy lamp for a natural serotonin boost
Prioritize low-effort, high-reward activities (like reading or journaling)
Slow your pace — it’s okay to rest more this season
This is your reminder to care gently for yourself. Even the smallest habits can create space for wellness.

What Trees Can Teach Us About Letting Go
As the world quiets around us, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the idea of release. Clinical Hypnotherapist Suzanna Forest invites us to take inspiration from nature:
“While we are piling on — the layers, the schedules, the to-dos — trees are letting go.”
Let this be your invitation to release. To root down. To be still.
Ask yourself: What would I most like to let go of this season?
A Seasonal Treat to Nourish Your Body
Holistic Nutritionist Mylen Gagnon has shared the perfect holiday recipe: Vegan, gluten-free mini red velvet cakes that are as healthy as they are delicious. They’re nutrient-dense, simple to prepare, and guaranteed to bring a little joy to your winter table.
